Steve has a wide range of experience in the Martial Arts world:
- Nationally Accredited Level I Coach (Accreditation card No: 100297)
- Level II General principles coach,
- National Judge, State Referee
- Retired member of the AKF State Coaching panel (1990 – 2007)
- Retired State Coaching Co-ordinator (1999 – 2007)
- AKF State Federation Secretary. (1990 – 2007 and 2010 to current)
Steve has served on the National Federation's Kata Coaching team as Assistant National Kata Coach from 2000 – 2004 and attended the 2002 World Karate Federation World Championships in Spain as Assistant National Coach.
Steve is currently the President of the South West Goju Ryu Karate Do Association.
